Roads End fireworks

Happy New Year 2012!!

The Mayans might have had the world's end in mind with their calendar, but in our book the year 2012 just means more Road's End!

More of all our delicious Pinots, Pinot Gris, Sauv Blanc and Pinot Noir Rosé — plus perhaps a surprise offering or two in the year to come.

Most of all, it means more time with friends and family, with our grapes and our goats, and with our new canine staff member (see Coltrane below).

So here's raising a glass of beautiful Oregon wine — to your health and happiness and a fantastic, delicious 2012!

Fresh Awards & Acclaim

Snooth's Gregory Dal Piaz lists Roads End in Oregon Pinot picks

Snooth

Snooth Editor in Chief Gregory Dal Piaz recently listed his Oregon Pinot Noir picks in the $35–45 range. Our very own 2009 Roads End made the cut in his "6 wines of finesse and complexity." (It's actually 7 wines, but we're not quibbling.)

"You have to produce mighty fine wine to be a value" in this price range, writes Dal Piaz, "and in Oregon that means finesse and complexity. It also means having a little something extra, which could be blazing aromatics or a extra density adding weight to the palate and potential to improve."

TODAY features Cannon Beach in their "20 under $20"

TODAY Show

TODAY's Leslie Sbrocco features our 2010 Cannon Beach Pinot Gris in the TODAY Food list, "20 under $20: Quality holiday wines that won't break the bank." She writes:

"A family-owned operation crafting what I think ranks among Oregon’s best expression of the variety: racy, juicy, and full of peach-scented loveliness. The wine also comes in a high-end bag-in-box format (3 liters equal four bottles), which is a top choice for big gatherings."

Two More Medals from "the largest competition
of American wines in the world"

SF Chronicle

The judges of the 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition tasted some 5500 wines over four days, and once again gave medals to two of our wines:

2009 Cape Lookout Pinot Noir — Silver Medal
2009 Seven Devils Pinot Noir — Silver Medal

Carlton Cellars Open Today

Winter Hours: Sat–Sun 11–5

Our winters hours are in effect at the Carlton Cellars Tasting Room. Join us every Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. It's a quieter time in the winery, which gives us more time to show you around the place.

Come visit us and see where the magic happens!

Meet Coltrane!

Coltrane - January 2012

We took a giant step and rang in the New Year with our newest Carlton Cellars family member: Coltrane the border collie.

We haven't heard Coltrane's sax chops yet, but he's a hard bop maestro with the tennis ball (which is definitely one of his favorite things). And he's guaranteed to get a serious workout trading fours with the Carlton Cellars vineyard goats.

If he's not working in the vineyard when you visit, Coltrane may be at the winery to greet you — and to herd you to some excellent Oregon wine selections.

We're thrilled to have this cute little guy in the family, and we look forward to introducing you.

See you in Carlton!

and the team at Carlton Cellars
