Connoisseurs Club Thanksgiving Preview
We're very proud that the judges selected all three of our Pinots for inclusion in the Sixth Annual Portland Indie Wine Festival, May 8, 2010.
The Portland Indie Wine Festival is a juried competition featuring Oregon's premier boutique wineries. In early March, the festival invites three panels of judges comprised of wine experts from the media, trade and winemaking professions for a blind tasting to determine who'll make the cut and pour their wines in the festival each year.
Carlton Cellars is honored to have made the cut once again! We'll be pouring all three of our Pinots at this prestigious event: Roads End 2008, Cape Lookout 2008, and Seven Devils 2008.
During the blind tasting, the jury is only made aware of the vintage year and wine variety he or she is tasting. The judges rate each wine and an average is calculated for a final score. This score determines the rank of the winery in the tasting. Of the over 175 wine submissions taken from nearly 100 wineries, only the top 40 wineries are selected to pour their wines at the festival. Only wines submitted and ranked by the jury will be poured during the festival.
Join 40 craft producers that represent the heart and soul of Oregon’s world-class wine industry as they pour their wines during the 6th annual Portland Indie Wine & Food Festival. The festival is an exciting opportunity to meet rising star winemakers from emerging cellars across the state in a farmer’s market-style setting. Most of the wines being poured are very limited in production and not widely available to purchase. While you sip, enjoy small plates from top local chefs and restaurants.
