Join us for an intimate winemakers' dinner at the classic Benson Hotel. Built in 1912, the historic Benson is a sophisticated AAA Four-Diamond boutique style hotel in the heart of Portland's downtown. The Benson is even offering our guests a special room rate for the night (see below).
The Benson's Executive Chef Serge Selbe will create an unforgettable 5-course meal specially paired to Carlton Cellars' wines — including not only current offerings but also early vintages from our library that you won't find anywhere else.
Born in Laos to a French father and Laotian mother, trained in Switzerland, Chef Selbe and his culinary staff have set the standard for upscale dining quality and service. Under Selbe's direction since September 2009, the Benson's revitalized London Grill restaurant is a Wine Spectator Best of award winner. Find out more about Chef Selbe in this Oregonian review.
We are very proud to be bringing you this special winemakers' dinner with The Benson.
Our connection goes back to our first vintage, 2001. The Benson's Director of Food and Beverage, Todd Moore, was one of the first supporters of our Roads End Oregon Pinot Noir, which he featured as a long-time glass pour in the hotel's epic wine list, as a prominent representative of superb Oregon Pinot Noirs.
Says Moore, "The Roads End was far more than a simple listing. It helped define the Benson Wine program of representing truly talented and excellent Northwest artistry in winemaking."
